🦿 ROBOTICS
Google DeepMind Brings Gemini AI to Boston Dynamics Robots in Hyundai Plants

Google DeepMind and Boston Dynamics are partnering to deploy Gemini-powered robots in real manufacturing environments, starting with tests at Hyundai automotive factories. The collaboration integrates DeepMind’s Gemini Robotics model into Boston Dynamics’ Atlas humanoid and Spot quadruped robots, aiming to move beyond preprogrammed routines toward adaptable, context-aware behavior.
Executives say the goal is for robots to perceive their surroundings, reason about tasks, and manipulate a wide range of objects safely. The trials reflect a broader push toward “embodied AI,” where learning happens through physical interaction, not just software training. → Read the full article here.
🚁 RESCUE
AI-Guided Drones Solved a Year-Long Mystery on Italy’s Mount Monviso

AI software helped Italian mountain rescuers locate the body of missing climber Nicola Ivaldo nearly a year after he disappeared on Monviso. After traditional searches failed in 2024, rescuers in the Piemonte region resumed efforts in July 2025 using drones and AI trained to flag visual anomalies in rugged terrain.
The system scanned more than 2,600 drone images within hours and identified a single red pixel—later confirmed as Ivaldo’s helmet—in a shaded mountain gully. The discovery narrowed the search area dramatically and led to the recovery of his remains within days. → Read the full article here.

Ozlo Pivots Sleepbuds Into a Sleep Data and AI Platform

Ozlo, best known for its noise-masking Sleepbuds, is expanding from hardware into a data-driven sleep platform, executives said at Consumer Electronics Show this week. The shift builds on a recent partnership with Calm and an SDK that lets third-party apps access Ozlo’s sleep, movement, and respiration data.
Ozlo plans to monetize through subscriptions, AI-powered features, and healthcare applications, including tinnitus therapy and future medical-grade products. The strategy positions the company to move beyond one-time device sales toward recurring software and clinical revenue.→ Read the full article here.
